Glowtk is a personal selfie lighting journal for iOS. Log light direction, golden-hour phases, setups, and session notes without creating an account or uploading your photos to our servers.
1. Who we are
“Glowtk,” “we,” and “us” refer to the developer of the Glowtk iOS application. For privacy questions, contact us at privacy@glowtk.app.
2. Information we collect
Data you enter in the app
Glowtk stores the content you create locally on your iPhone or iPad, including:
- Light setups & presets — labels, placement, preferred phase, color temperature, softness, and notes
- Selfie sessions — photos, timestamps, golden-hour phase, ratings, tags, outcome notes, and optional voice notes
- Preferences — session slot limit, favorites, reminder settings, display choices, and challenge progress
- Glow Coins balance — your in-app currency balance and fulfilled purchase identifiers
This data is saved in the app’s local storage on your device. We do not operate a cloud sync service and do not receive this content unless you explicitly share it (for example, by exporting a PDF or saving an image to Photos).
Device permissions
Glowtk may request the following permissions. Each is optional and only used for the feature you trigger:
- Camera — capture selfies for lighting sessions
- Photo Library — import existing photos and save exports
- Microphone — record voice notes on sessions
- Notifications — golden-hour reminders you enable
- App Tracking Transparency — on supported iOS versions, the system may ask whether Glowtk can use the advertising identifier to deliver personalized features and optimize your app experience. You can decline and still use all app features.
You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings → Glowtk.
Purchases
Glow Coins are sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Apple processes payment and may collect billing information according to Apple’s Privacy Policy. We receive only purchase confirmation and product identifiers needed to credit your coin balance — not your full payment card details.
3. How we use information
We use your data solely to provide app functionality:
- Display and organize your light setups, presets, and selfie sessions
- Calculate on-device insights such as light DNA summaries and weekly reports
- Schedule local golden-hour reminders you enable
- Generate on-device exports such as compare cards and PDF reports
- Deliver in-app purchases and maintain your Glow Coins balance
We do not use your journal content for advertising profiles or sell it to third parties.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Limited sharing may occur only in these cases:
- Apple — for App Store distribution, in-app purchases, and system services you enable
- Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect rights and safety
- Your actions — when you export, share, or save content outside the app
5. Data retention & deletion
Your journal data remains on your device until you delete it. You can remove individual sessions or setups within the app, or use Me → Clear All Data to erase all sessions, setups, and presets and reset coins to the default starting balance.
Uninstalling Glowtk removes all locally stored app data from your device.
6. Children’s privacy
Glowtk is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact privacy@glowtk.app and we will assist with deletion.
7. Security
Your data is protected by iOS app isolation and device-level security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID). We recommend keeping your device updated and using a screen lock. Because data is stored locally, loss of device access without a backup may result in permanent data loss — consider regular iPhone backups via iCloud or your computer.
8. International users
Glowtk is designed for local, on-device storage. If you use the app outside your home country, your data still remains on your device subject to your local laws and iOS policies.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect changes. Continued use of Glowtk after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
